About
Outwards is a rock band from Paris, formed in November 2016, whose musical influences are halfway between post rock and progressive rock.
The band was created under the impulse of Jean-Loup Pecquais, guitarist and composer, eager to build an evocative and narrative rock music. Five musicians then join the project and Outwards officially takes life.
After the recording of a first EP, “From Here to Where” in December 2017, Outwards released their first album “To Become” in September 2018. The LP received excellent reviews and the band was noticed on stage, especially during Parisian Festivals.
However, in 2019, the project naturally takes a break, as Jean-Loup decides to fully concentrate on his job as a sound engineer. But this pause is only of short duration. At the beginning of 2020, he reformed the band, this time as a trio, with Maxime Biron, drummer of the original formation and Victor Gourgeaud on bass. This new lineup then starts to work on its second album, “From Isles Apart” to be released in January 2022.
